汉语中有一些典型句式，如本文中出现的“……为核心”、“围……这个核心问题”、“……人手”“在深人分析……的基础上”、“存……问题”、“……为例”。如果将这些句式直接翻译为英语，会使英语不堪重负。译者应当尽量抛弃这些句式，用简单的动词结构翻译出原文的实质含义。例如:

原文：

针对这些问题，本文以某士官学校的实践为例，充分借鉴我国军事文化对思想政治教育积极作用的经验。

原译:

Targeting these problems, the thesis takes the practice of a particular NCO academy as an example, draws on the experience gained from the practice of promoting the ideological and political education with the help of our national military culture.

改译：

A certain NCO training academy is used as a case study to look into how China's military culture has positively affected ethical and political education.

常见的句式还有：坚持……的原则，采……办法，处……状态，发挥……功能，起到……作用，实现……目标，完成……的任务，遵守（采取、坚持）……方针(政策)，实施……战略，采取……态度，出现……现象，处……局面，……为中心，……为纲，……为龙头，……为龙尾，……为两翼，……为中心，……为依托，……为纽带，等等。这些句式，英文都不一定翻译出来。
