写文章要保证前后连贯。如果把翻译当成写作，译文也要注意前后连贯。翻译的有些逻辑问题，在翻译过程中可能看不到，但通读译文，便可能发现。例如:

例1：

原文：我们北外网院已经成为一个品牌。教育部的赞扬、社会的认同，成功的国际合作，以及无需做广告，是我们的回报。

原译：

The Institute of Online Education in BFSU has become a brand name and has paid off. Commended by the Ministry of Education and acknowledged by the society, we have enjoyed successful international cooperation and thus need no advertisement.

分析：“成为品牌”与“无需广告”之间的关系更为密切。“改译”对信息进行了重组：

改译：

Our efforts have given us a recognizable name so we do not have to advertise, and our reward has been praise from the Ministry of Education, recognition from the public, and successful cooperation with international partners.

例2：

原文：

到了明代，还有更为人知的海上丝绸之路的大事。今天在座的有来自新加坡国立大学的嘉宾。新加坡及周遍国家和地区在我国历时上被称之为“南洋”，开始一度还以为是“西洋”，这有点像哥伦布把南美洲当成了印度。公元1405至1430二十五年间，郑和受明朝廷派遣先后7次下南洋，开辟了有划时代意义的海上另一条丝绸之路。

原译：

In Ming Dynasty, there was a more famous event related to maritime Silk Road. Today we have here with us guests from National University of Singapore. Singapore and its neighboring countries and regions were known in our history as “South Ocean”. Just like Columbus took South America for India, it was once taken as the “West Ocean” by mistake. During the 25 years from 1405 to 1430, Zheng He was dispatched 7 times by the Ming court to South Ocean, and thus pioneered another epoch-making Silk Road on the Sea.

改译：Later, in the Ming Dynasty, even more important events occurred along the maritime Silk Road when, between 1405 and 1430, Zheng He sailed seven times on the orders of the Ming emperors to the countries of “Xi Yang” or the Western Ocean. Historically, it was believed that Singapore and the surrounding nations were part of the Western Ocean, a bit like Columbus thought South America was India. Thus over a period of 25 years was a new set of major ocean trade routes explored and extended.
