【求疵笔记】英语品牌商标，例如Sony、Siemens、Motorola等一般不带brand这个词。《中英文广告实用手册》一书反映了我国企业商标经营管理的一些问题:不少企业及其产品没有商标。有的有商标，但是商标名称平庸，半间半界，不伦不类，难以打开市场。在英译汉方面，则往往喜欢在译文上添加 brand 一词。比如“松树牌、友好牌滋补剂”译作PINE or FRIENDSHIP brand tonics;“金杯牌汽床垫”Golden Cup brand air-filled bed cushion等。该手册中也有处理得比较好的，比如“标致汽车”译作Peugeot Automobile;“西风酒”Xifeng Wine，反映了企业品牌管理的成熟。

【中式英语】I bought a cheap dress for my girlfriend.

【求疵笔记】cheap表示价廉质差，档次较低。赠送女朋友的东西可以是价格不贵的，但必须质量较好，款式新颖，因此本句“便宜”应该译作inexpensive。反之，如果“买一双便宜的鞋子自己穿。”“便宜的鞋子”就可译作cheap shoes。

【求疵笔记】原文出自中国商人的口吻，译文最好转换成美国商人口吻。“品种”在商务函电中常常被说成line（商品的类、种)。

【修改建议】This company offers very extensive line of digital cameras.

中国期刊在数量和效益方面取得了一些骄人的成绩。

【求疵笔记】“期刊……取得成绩”应该改为“中国……取得成绩”。
